Raise your hand. An instructor is walking the room and will come straight over, no need to wait.

📊  Karr Brief  /  Business reports

Let's get Karr Brief working for you.

Brief turns the numbers you already keep into a written report. Pick who's reading it and it changes what it says, because a client and a lender don't want the same page.

This takes about ten minutes. You'll create a free login, connect your Gmail, and answer a couple of quick questions. Nothing to install.

Step 1 of 6

Create your free n8n login

This is the engine that runs Karr Brief in the background. You only do this once, ever.

  1. Open the link below. It opens in a new tab, this page will still be here.
  2. Click Sign up in the corner, and use the email you check most often.
  3. Set a password and confirm your email if it asks.
Open n8n and sign up →
Step 2 of 6

Get your free writing key

This is what lets Karr Brief actually write things, in your voice, for free. Google gives this out at no cost.

  1. Open the link below and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Click Create API key. It's a big button, hard to miss.
  3. Copy the code it gives you. It looks like a long jumble of letters, that's normal.
Open Google AI Studio →

This stays on your own device. We'll remind you exactly where it goes inside n8n in a moment.

Step 3 of 6

Connect your accounts

Inside n8n, click Credentials in the left menu, then Add Credential, for each of these.

  1. Google Sheets. Where your revenue or transactions live.
  2. Gmail. So the report gets emailed to whoever asked for it.
  3. Google Drive. So a copy is kept for next time.
Open n8n credentials →
Step 4 of 6

A couple of quick questions

Nothing technical, just so Karr Brief fits how you actually work.

Brief writes differently for a client, an investor, or the team. This just gets you thinking about who's usually asking.

Nothing to configure here, just worth knowing what matters most to you.

Step 5 of 6

Bring in the workflow

The file 02-karr-brief.json was sent to you separately. Download it from wherever you received it.

  1. In n8n, click the three dots in the top right, then Import from File.
  2. Pick 02-karr-brief.json from your downloads.
  3. Open each node with a dashed box or a placeholder, and fill in your writing key and your accounts from steps 2 and 3.

Make a Google Sheet for your data sheet. Row one needs these column names, exactly, all lowercase:

dateclientserviceamountstatus

Make a Google Drive folder for the copies Karr Brief files away. Any name you like.

The file linked above opens as a form at a web address once it is imported and turned on, so you can send that link to anyone.

Step 6 of 6

Try it before you trust it

A few real checks, so you know it works before it touches a real client or a real invoice.

When it looks right, save the workflow and turn on the Active toggle at the top. That's the last step.

Karr Brief is live.

That's the whole setup. It runs from here on its own.
